Notes: This painting emerged from a daily artistic investigation undertaken during Lent, the 40 days preceding Easter, whilst exhibiting in France. Driven by my deep interest in religious iconography and its reflection of the human condition, I embarked on a practice of printing an image of Christ each day. Utilizing screens prepared with details from classical crucifixion paintings and building layers of oil on the canvas, this process became a form of disciplined contemplation. The recovered French frame, sourced from an attic, not only complements the work but also echoes the history and cultural context of its intended exhibition.
