ARTIST NOTE:
‘Regrette rien’ (Regret nothing) This is a comment upon life and inevitable decay, and how even this can be beautiful. I realized this through the use on an old contaminated emulsion on the screen, which broke down with every print. The one I pulled after the third was all black. The images decays from left to right. Decay is inevitable, but it can be beautiful, and we should regret nothing. The image is if Edith Piaf, who sang the song ‘je ne regretted rien’
